Dennis & Beverly | Ocala & The Villages Engagement Session

My dear cousin-in-law, Beverly, and her fiancé, Dennis, have been planning their engagement session long before they knew it was going to rain nonstop for almost a week in Ocala.

So, rain… it sure did.  So what?  It didn’t rain down on our parade;).  What I love about overcast is how even and diffuse the lighting is, making beautiful skin.  No rim light, no solar flares, no golden hour… so what?  Through the drizzle, we were able to take some beautiful photos of them around town.

Thanks, guys for a fun e-session and congrats on the new chapter of your life! <3

Dugan Family in Charleston, SC | Ocala Family Photographer

I was so lucky to have gotten to photograph the Dugans on my little road trip.  Julie and Russ have such a gorgeous little blue-eyed family!   These two boys are not only a couple of the most adorable kids I have ever met, but the most well-mannered.  Again, the weather happened to be one of the coldest in South Carolina which did not make for ideal playground conditions, but give those kids a hill, and they will climb it.  Little Patrick was a bit shy but his older brother Reid was made for the camera.  Both had eyelashes that any girl would kill for… What a couple of heart breakers!

Jessica & Tim Maternity Session in Columbia, SC | Ocala, FL Photographer

Jessica is due in May and decided that since I was going on a road trip, she’d ask me to swing by Columbia to take some maternity photos for her.  The only problem with that day was the crazy cold weather that suddenly came with me.  It was felt like 30 degrees with the wind and Jessica was such a good model, you couldn’t even tell her teeth were chattering and her lips were blue.

I had a blast photographing Jessica & Tim and can’t wait to meet their daughter in a few months!

Dennis & Synora Jacksonville, Florida Wedding | Ocala Family Photographer

Dennis and Synora are a couple of my dear friends who finally tied the knot this weekend in Jacksonville, Florida.   It was THE wedding of the year.  With all of their creative energies, I knew it was going to be an beautiful and epic day.  Their amazing photographer Jeanne from Enna|Anne let me play second shooter pre-ceremony at the gorgeous Cummer Museum… I only took a few with Dennis’s camera, so be sure to check out the rest of her images when she releases them!

Here are a few of my favorite that I had to show them!

The Yang Family | Ocala Family Photographer

Eugenia and Ethan were coming from New York to visit family in Florida and were referred to me by the Byrds after I photographed their son’s first birthday.  They wanted to get photos of their son Luke, since he just turned one, and it just so happened that the only day I had available was the end of the world, 12/21/12.

Thank goodness the zombies didn’t come after us!  Unfortunately, the wind did.  The weather changed pretty quickly that night and by morning, it was freezing with the windchill.  That didn’t stop Luke from enjoying his rice crackers and giving me hugs and smiles.  What a sweet boy!  We wandered around Historic Downtown Winter Garden and took some photos along the way.   Eugenia and Ethan were married at the Methodist Church near downtown, so we took a few there for sentimental reasons.  The best part of the day (aside from the surprise hug I had received from cute little Luke) was warm tea and pastries from the Yangs!  They brought a picnic basket for us to take a break right in the square.  :)  My kind of love!

What a fun family!  I wish them a happy, healthy new year! <3
